Many people, including myself, were fans of the Hulu series The Handmaids Tale. The show was a look into a potential future and part of what made it so good, and scary, was the realism. To get such realism. I believe the original writer started at some point in the real world in real time then took a potential look ahead, the next step so to say whether it be realistic or, as Phil Collins sang, against all odds. And then, ran with it, seeing through, taking the next few steps. I always imagined, in the creative realm, that is how world building goes. At least, that’s how it is for me when I do it. Let’s apply this to President Trump, shall we…
Ever since the first day of President Trumps second term, I have been openly saying that come the end of his second term, he will refuse to leave. This is not creative world building; it’s just logic and common sense. He has openly had his crowd of cronies exploring law and legislature for any way to stay in office after his term expires. The raid on the Capital come the end of his first term was nothing more than an experiment, a test. It was like in Jurassic Park when the dinosaurs were running into the electric fence, they were testing for the weakest spot. Hell. he has openly expressed his wish and desire to not give up power and that is exactly what he is going to try and do, retain power. It is reminiscent of Germany in the 1930’s, ICE running around as if they were the Brownshirts, and later, something far worse. Instead of getting everyone united against a particular faith, it is as if someone is bringing out our displeasure of illegal immigrants and turning it into pure hatred. We need to make this country great again, like it used to be. All this is right out of the Mein Kamph playbook, plus so much more. The next thing you know, anyone getting married will have to buy a copy of one of Trumps books as a requirement of matrimony.
So, this is where we are now. I then thought a few steps ahead. I started off logically then chose to go down the path of a future that is against the odds, improbable, but not impossible. Maybe Trump wants to stay in office but keeps running into brick walls with how to do it. The law denied him, his advisors finally got through to him that if he tries to stay in office after his term expires, the country isn’t united enough to back him and he would either be ousted quickly, or a long, drawn-out civil war will ensue with him ending up with the short end of the stick and at the end of a long rope. neither option appealing enough to give it a try as it would tarnish the historical portrayal of The Donald forever.
Luckily, the President had someone like me to advise him. Someone who doesn’t think outside “the box” but rather thinks as if there was never a box to begin with. Power is power, no matter where it comes from and if you can’t have it all, take what you can now and come back for the rest later. Basically, think of some bull shit way to stay in office, any excuse will do. And when he refuses to leave office, civil war, of which he does not expect to traditionally win, will ensue. Now, as I previously wrote about, Christian organizations, legislature, and states themselves have legally placed the Ten Commandments in every public-school classroom. The reason this was so important wasn’t about the Ten Commandments, faith, or God herself, unless you believe Donald is God just as Donald does. This was a loyalty test with a show of good faith. Trump might as well have said “Any state remaining loyal to me, raise your hand”, I could clearly see that from where I am sitting. Can you? After staying in the Oval Office as long as he could, winning over those on the fence, taking what he can, and sabotaging the new regime as if it were The Boston Tea Party. Lastly, in a move planned from the start of the second term, Trump will make a run for the border. Not Mexico, not Canada, but to The Republican States of America, essentially cutting this country in half and most likely during a bogus BS war he started as a distraction before the end of his legal reign. I would guess the war would be with Russia and in exchange, Trump promised to give back Sewards Folly, Alaska, as selling it years before was a mistake Russia always regrated and not just for the oil, but to have a foothold in this continent.
When the dust settles and the smoke clears, The United States of America will be at least 20 states short, the country cut in half including a DMZ where the fighting continues, Puttin and The Wizard OF The Kremlin (who probably orchestrated the whole thing painting his masterpiece with blood from all sides) to the north of us now in control of Alaska and parts of Canada, and a senile dictator with his Christian minions and socialist state to the Midwest and south of Washington DC. Eerily, this does sound a bit like The Handmaids Tale.
